Background
In February 2024 the Cabinet Office established the “Basic Policy for Realizing Immediate Open Access to Scholarly Articles”, which requires scholarly articles and research data produced with public funding to be made publicly available. In response, Toyohashi University of Technology has established itsOpen Access Policy and Policy on the Management and Disclosure of Research Dataand is working to promote open science. This page explains GakuNin RDM, a system for managing research data.
What is GakuNin RDM?
GakuNin RDM is a research data management system provided by the National Institute of Informatics (NII). You can use it by logging in from a web browser, for example to share research data within a laboratory and keep an audit trail. For specific use cases, seehere.
Who can use it
Faculty, staff and students with a university account can use it.
How to log in
hereand select “Toyohashi University of Technology” at the top right of the screen.
You are then taken to the university authentication screen, where you log in with your Toyohashi University of Technology account.
Account setup is required only the first time you log in. For details, seeLogging in to GakuNin RDM and setting up your account for the first time.
How to use it
About storage
Standard storage
The standard storage provided by NII gives each user up to 100 GB. Note that individual files must be smaller than 5 GB.
Extended storage
How to connect
The storage system provided by this university is planned to become available as extended storage.
This is currently being prepared.
Instructions will be added here once it becomes available.
Data analysis feature
A data analysis feature is available as an option.
Some configuration is required before you can use it.
