Using email

  • All university staff members and students have their own center account and can use the mail server of the center.
  • The mail server is mail.imc.tut.ac.jp.
    • To send an email, user authentication (SMTP-AUTH) is required.
    • To receive an email, IMAP protocol or POP 3 protocol can be used.
    • Web-based email is also available.
    • The capacity of a mail box is 25 GB for a university faculty or a university staff and 5 GB for a student.
    • Automatic spam filtering service is installed.
      • Messages categorized as spam by this service are stored into Junk folder, and are not forwarded even if you set the email forwarding address.
      • The list of subjects and senders of new messaegs in Junk folder is notified to you once a week.
      • Messages in Junk folder will be automatically deleted 30 days after their receive.  If you find a miscategorized message, move it from Junk folder to the other folder.
  • To change the password or forwarding address, access "Personal Setting."   
  • Application for tut.jp email address (Only for university staff. Refer to Operation policy.)
